OVERVIEW
Detect crossings. Connect the alert.
VFS10 pairs a transmitter and receiver at opposite ends of a protected section. The units form an invisible electronic detection zone; a person or large animal crossing that zone changes the received signal and triggers an alert through the wanwave LPWAN network.
Protect boundaries without power cabling
Use VFS10 around restricted zones, critical infrastructure and remote perimeter sections where laying power or signal cables would complicate deployment. Each unit operates on an internal battery, and the transmitter–receiver pair monitors a section from 5 to 50 metres long.
Bring crossings and device status into view
Crossing events are sent to a connected monitoring platform through a wanwave base station. Regular service messages support device supervision, with a default interval of 24 hours. The sensor also generates alarms for a low or lost supply voltage and transmitter or receiver failure.
Shape the detection zone around the site
The detection zone is up to 2 metres wide at a 50-metre section length and at least 2.5 metres high at the maximum length. A multi-threshold algorithm helps filter nuisance triggers. Terrain, vegetation, nearby fences and traffic need to be considered when positioning the units and testing the installed section.
